Born and raised in a working class family in central scotland by a single mother who was a registered nurse and the youngest of 3 brothers. Joseph growing up had it generally easy, often showing a keen interest in all things practical and focusing on tasks that involve getting his hands dirty. This eagerness is what ended up getting him to pursue the path of culinary, joining a local community college for a course in cooking. He enjoyed being a cook a lot, not only was he getting the fruits of his own labour by learning this trade, he was also opening up a wide range of opportunities for himself if he got bored of one.
Becoming a chef at a local 4 star restaurant, he quickly flew through the ranks and became the sous chef of the kitchen due to his steadiness and efficiency with a knife, something he'd value later down the line. Life was going good for Joseph until looming threats of a war was going around and big organizations were opening up sanctuaries called "Bastions", some mumbo jumbo nuclear fallout shelter shit is what joseph told himself so he continued on with his life. Suddenly, Joseph's mother passed away from a severe stroke which was presumably from an "adult life of continuous stress". This left Joseph heart broken and it was only going to go downhill from here.
Suddenly both of his brothers moved down to Wales due to signing up for the Swansea bastion leaving Joseph to fend for himself with no relatives around. He quickly came to realise that these "Bastions" may be his only bet seeing as everyone around him were taking cautionary action to the war threats. He quickly tried to sign up for the bastion in Dundee but he was too little too late as it was already maxed out as with almost all of the bastions in Britain were. a few weeks of staying inside his house figuring out a plan, The threat of a World War III was now at peak and Joseph was starting to panic, he would do anything to ensure his own survival and headed out to a local NCC administration to ask for more information, quickly finding out that there is room in bastions in Zone 3: Carpathia. He was hesitant at first due to the distance between eastern Europe & Britain but decided it was best to sign up for it, so he gathered his things and anything he needed and headed to a bastion in Zone 3, His newly found home named Korolgrad. Upon arriving to the sanctuary, he quickly set about using his skills he learned in life to excel within the walls of the bastion to ensure his safety and wellbeing, no matter the risk.
Joseph can put on a pretty convincing eastern European accent in order to conceal his identity when his shady business may sabotage his legal business.
